Avijit Ghosh (b.1993) is a documentary photographer and a visual storyteller based in Kolkata, India.
Born and raised in a rural village in West Bengal, near the Bengal Delta, Ghosh later moved to the suburbs to pursue a bachelor's degree in the arts and a postgraduate diploma in photography from Calcutta University. His childhood connection to nature greatly influences his work, particularly regarding the impacts of climate change, the environment and its complex relationships with living beings. His work uses unconventional methods to evoke emotions while keeping the documentary integrity.

He frequently contributes to major international photo agencies, and his work has appeared in news publications, including Time, The Wall Street Journal, VICE, CNN, and the BBC, among others. His long-term project, "The Land of Conflict," which documents the role of climate change in increasing tiger attacks in the Sundarbans, has been exhibited at the Sant Pol Doc Festival in 2021 and Zoom Photo Festival in 2023. Additionally, he has shown his work at Photo London, The United Nations headquarter, and during COP26 in the UK and COP27 in Egypt. Ghosh was a recipient of the Global Research Programme on Inequality (GRIP) grant, which allowed him to work on the issue of water inequality. In 2023, he also received an honourable mention from the Umrao Singh Sher-Gil Grant for Photography. He is a member of Diversify Photo.
